Materials Needed:

• White paper or cardstock
• Pencil
• Ruler
• Red and blue markers, crayons, or colored pencils
• Black marker or pen

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Paper: Take a piece of white paper or cardstock. Ensure it’s clean and free from any wrinkles or folds.

2. Draw the Hat: Use a pencil and ruler to sketch the outline of the Uncle Sam hat. Start by drawing a long, rectangular shape for the base of the hat, slightly wider at the bottom than the top. Then, draw a smaller rectangle on top of the larger one to form the top of the hat. Finally, add the brim by drawing a wide, curved line at the bottom of the larger rectangle. The hat should resemble a tall top hat with a curved brim.

3. Add Details: Inside the hat, sketch in some stars and stripes. You can draw stars in the blue section and vertical stripes (alternating red and white) on the top part of the hat.

4. Outline with Marker: Trace over the pencil lines with a black marker or pen, going over the outlines of the hat and the details you added. This will make the design stand out and make it easier to color later.

5. Coloring: Use red, white, and blue markers, crayons, or colored pencils to fill in the hat. Color the top part of the hat (the smaller rectangle) with blue. Alternate between red and white for the stripes on the larger part of the hat, leaving the stars in the blue section white.

6. Finishing Touches: Once the coloring is complete and the ink has dried, you can erase any remaining pencil lines to give your Uncle Sam hat a neat appearance.
